Dalyan / Dalyan
Situated off a small side road on the outskirts of Dalyan, an impressive avenue lined with palm trees greets us as we drive up to charming D'Louca villa. A riot of colour, the stunning gardens and immaculate lawns set the scene for a peaceful, laid back holiday, with the private swimming pool definitely the centre of attention. A fifteen minute walk to the nearest restaurant and a twenty minute walk to a supermarket makes the villa a reasonable distance from Dalyan and yet retains the countryside retreat atmosphere surrounded by Pomegranate trees, fields and orchards. Relaxing in a hammock reading the latest book on the back balcony is one restful way to enjoy a summer afternoon, whilst others take advantage of the larger than average swimming pool at the front of the villa, with sunloungers and umbrellas and even a little bar complete with fridge, everything has been thought of. The traditionally furnished one storey villa has a spacious, comfortable living and dining area and a well equipped kitchen while the three bedrooms lead off from the lounge. Al fresco dining is the way to go with a barbecue at the ready for plenty of dining out under the stars and the relaxing ambience of the villa works its magic. Breath-taking Iztuzu beach ( known as Turtle beach after the Caretta Caretta turtles who lay their eggs there) is a fifteen minute drive away, a protected beach based on a narrow spit of land, which forms a natural barrier between the fresh water delta of the Dalyan river and the Mediterranean, it is a spectacular spot to unwind and experience this unique fusion of sea and river. Dalyan is a pretty village gathered to one side of the river that leads gently down to the sea, a river boat a must to explore the nature preserved there, and the village has a marvellous mix of traditional Pide restaurants ( the original Pizza dough) and more sophisticated restaurants to give a good selection of eateries and shops. Sun shine, nature and a rural retreat, relax and enjoy.
